THE Breeders Invitational Yearling Sale, conducted by Michael Holmes Bloodstock, was first introduced in 2002. It has quickly become a source of affordable winners, with prices to suit every pocket.
This year’s sale will be held at the Kyalami Equestrian Park on Sunday, 6 March, and Holmes will be offering 116 yearlings. They represent a wide range of sires, from the tried-and-tested, to the up-and-coming, to the brand new.
High Season Stud, who currently occupies a Top 10 position on the National Breeders Log, wil be represented by eight foals, including three smart youngsters by champion first-season sire, Casey Tibbs, and four by Danehill’s son Fanatic Dane.
Holmes told Racing Express: `This is a true value for money sale. There are several excellent lots, but if I have to make my pick I’d say Lot 65, a filly by National Emblem, is perhaps one of the best. She is out of an unraced Complete Warrior mare and from the family of Tarn Fairy and Blushing Fairy.’’
The sale starts at 1pm and catalogues and refreshments will be available.
